Pizza and Ice cream!!! Yeah, this is my version of heaven. Sure, if you're California, you might scoff at such deliciousness, but I head back to Cali, hug a spotted owl, drink your wheat grass juice, and embrace your yoga. No, foodies, this is real food done the right way, the New York style way. Trust me on this one, fellow foodies, don't waste your time with Candito's smaller size pies, go right for the extra large. Yes, your girl friend will say that she just wants a salad, but one whiff of their yummy pizza, and she will scarfing down your pizza faster than you can say Dean Martin and Tony Soprano. A deluxe extra large pizza is just the ticket, for an amazing meal for the whole family; in fact, whenever, I visit family in the area, an authentic pizza from Candito's is always on the holiday menu. This pizzeria is simply slice of old Italy and should be on everyone's foodie list.

I work nearby, so I frequent this establishment. Each town has one of those "must visit" pizza places. This is the one for ellwood city. Every pizza I've had has been excellent. Wings, calzones, salads and sandwiches all of the best quality. And the menu itself is very diverse with something for everyone. They also do a nice job of customization when needed. All orders have been accurate and fast! If you are in the area, this is a must stop!

as much as it kills me--i have to boycott Canditos and drop my rating to one star due to customer service issues. The delivery arrived at my house missing an item. The delivery guy stated he would go back and bring us our breadsticks. An hour later the breadsticks still have not arrived. When i called canditos the girl on the phone said the breadsticks were sitting right next to her and when the delivery guy made it back after finishing deliveries he would bring them. WOAH you are going to bring me food thats been sitting around for over an hour?! so when i questioned the girl on the phone she explained fresh breadsticks would not be made. Insanity! I then asked for a refund--was told i could only have a tab/credit. After my husband got on the phone he was told they could give us a refund----which we still have yet to see.

Candito's is a nice, clean pizza shop on the outskirts of Ellwood. We ordered a small steak and fries pizza to compliment our large white pizza. The crust was thin and crispy for both pizzas. The white pizza was the real winner, and while the steak and fries pizza was a novel idea, it didn't win me over. The steak didn't carry much flavor and the fries were soggy. Their sauce on that pizza was great, though; sweet but with enough garlic and herbs to make you sure you're eating the pizza of someone that knows what they're doing. One thing I thought was odd was that the first three times I called the restaurant I got a busy signal. It's been so long since I've heard one that I was under the impression that something was wrong with my phone. Once I finally got through, the service was good enough and the pizza was ready for pick up when they said it would. Candito's sports great prices, good crust(if you like it thinner), and one of the better pizza sauces I've had in the Ellwood area. I can't speak to the service in house, but the dining room seemed nice for how small it is.

Next to my standby, Pizza Joes, Canditos is my favorite pizza place in town. The pizza is great, and the calzones are delicious. The prices are great for the amount of food you get.

Excellent subs. Prices could be better, considering the area.

. The owner could have used some tips on how to treat his customers from the original owners of Double J's. He is an extremley rude person who has no patience when it comes to concerns or complaints about his establishment. Some of their items are good but I would say the food as a whole is mediocre at best and ridiculously overpriced. Don't even get me started on their prices for ice cream! Anyways Tim Candito does not have a problem with putting the blame on the customer, rather than his employees incompotance...if something is wrong...too bads. My nephew has been going there since he was a little boy, in fact he was there opening day..he is now 18. He ordered a pizza and the girl qouted the price 9.50, when the delivery guy got there he told me the price was close to 12. My nephew had given me 11 and I couldn't find him or my purse so I told the guy to take the 10 and the pizza and he would drive up there to pay the rest and pick it up. About 5 minutes later he came back and said..he can have the pizza for 10 and he can never order from us again! When I called the owner had attitude right off the bat telling me that yes it was 950 but with tax and delivery it was 11.70. I told him he what he was qouted and he says..he's 18 and a grown man..he should know there is a pa tax! I said I'm sure he does but maybe if you tell the ones who take the order to include both in their final total, there wouldn't be a problem. When I order from other places I'm qouted the price plus tax and if there's a delivery charge (who does that anymore) then that too. He told me that in the past him and his friends had come in there and ordered pizza and after they sat down ordered marinara sauce but didn't have the money to pay for it and he was sick of it..."he's not feeding America". When I asked my nephew about it he said a while back that yes that had happened..they asked for 2 marinaras and 2 garlic sauces..when she brought it to the table she said it would be 5 dollars! I'm talking about the very small plastic containers..they told them nevermind they didn't want it at 5 dollars. She brought back the garlic sauce with lids still on ( they never opened either) and said they couldn't reuse them but didn't charge...and that is what the owner was referring too! Over the years I asked him why he even got their food because personally I don't find it that good and he said because it was conveniant and was something he had been doing since he was a child. Anyways the owner went on to say he knew he was a loyal customer but who cares it didn't matter. Trust me when I tell you Venezies pizza in Ellwood is better and the owner and staff are awesome!
